Jess Myers
Jess joined TIP in 2024 while earning a Master of Public Affairs with a focus on workforce and economic development policy from the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School. Her recent work centers on workforce development and economic opportunity, while furthering her experience in economic development, placemaking strategies, community-centered engagement, and strategic plan writing for clients throughout the country. Prior to joining the firm full-time, Jess gained expertise in government affairs and state policy during the 2023 and 2025 Texas legislative sessions, as well as research communications at a national women’s campaign organization. Through these roles, she developed strong research, advocacy, policy analysis, and writing skills, alongside a deep understanding of government dynamics and processes. Jess also brings insights into effective civic engagement strategies, having previously coordinated award-winning campus voter registration initiatives. In addition to her master’s degree, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Honors and Economics minors from Texas State University. Jess lives Tyler, Texas, and can be found running the east Texas trails almost daily.
