International Shoppes – Public Relations Services/Strategic Relationship Management

Challenge

Established in 1951, duty-free and specialty retailer International Shoppes (iShoppes) offers luxury goods such as beauty products, designer fashions and fragrances, gourmet foods, and wines and spirits to airline passengers. The company’s operations had been concentrated in airport terminals across the northeast including JFK International Airport (New York), Logan International Airport (Boston), Dulles International Airport (Washington, DC), Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, and Bradley International Airport (Connecticut).

Response

As part of an expansion to other US regions, iShoppes engaged TIP Strategies president Tracye McDaniel to provide public relations and strategic relationship management services. During the 5-month engagement, she coordinated with the company’s communications and public relations team to help connect iShoppes with relevant associations, stakeholders, community and business leaders, and other interest groups in the Houston area. The company proudly opened its doors in the fall of 2019 in Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport; Terminals A, B, and D.
