Trulia looked at housing prices, foreclosure activity and job opportunities and found that it’s cheaper to buy a home than to rent in 74% of America’s 50 largest cities. The interactive data visualization also allows you to sort the data by different metrics and to see trends throughout the year.     Given the recent economy and housing market it seems wiser to rent right now.  There are many homes for rent in my neighborhood.  I believe it’s because people had to move and just couldn’t sell their home for what they needed to get out of it.
